Münchner Christkindlmarkt
The beginning of this market dates from the 14th century. Two “Krippen” are installed on this market. For children there is a heaven factory where they can pass an angel exam and then obtain the angel vesture as well as the wings. Moreover there is a special post office. Who ever gives up his christmas mail here will get a stamp from the village Christkindl near Steyr in Austria marked “Christkindl” (christ child).
Beside the visit of the traditional market it is also worth making a side trip to one of the further Christmas markets of Munich. You may take the christmas tram to do a part of this trip.
